Suspect Fatally Shot in Baldwin Park

November 24, 2015

Coroner’s officials released the name of a Baldwin Park man, who was fatally shot by police after breaking into a home while fleeing police. Police stated that they were chasing the suspect after he tried to flee police to get out of a ticket, so the police thought. Police were trying to pull over the man in a vehicle for speeding but when they flashed the lights, the suspect immediately fled in his vehicle. When the chase ended, the suspect exited the vehicle and broke into the closest home. Police surrounded the area and a standoff commenced. However, the suspect acted as if he was going to surrender to police and exited the house with his arms up. As the officer was approaching the suspect, the suspect turned and tried to steal the officer’s weapon from his waist. At that point the other officers opened fire on the suspect and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
